Rangitaiki Axemen’s Club Discusses Progress And Prospects

At the last meeting of the Rangitaiki Axemen’s Club in the dairy factory social rooms, those present were Messrs W. Bunyan (president), J. Manary, J. Bell, H. Hanright, W. Simons, D. Bunyan; W. E. Hill and A. B. Hill (secretary). General business was quickly passed through and then the financial side of the club was thoroughly discussed. Subscriptions and vice-presidents’ were sadly lacking but, due to the activities of a live wire social committee, which has run a series of dances in the Awakeri Hall the club funds have benefited considerably. A programme for the Murupara Sports was drawn up, with a total of £55 prize money spread over three chops, the main 12” chop being worth £2O and trophy first, £7 second and £3 third.

Quite a lot of discussion was held ■ on the question of the club’s own sports which it hopes to hold in . April or iJlay. It was finally decided to hold them on the Edgecumbe Domain with a monster 7-aside Hockey ' Tournament as well.
