Run Over By Own Car

Injuries to the scalp and abrasions were suffered by Mr Ernest Holmes, aged 26, motor mechanic, of Kamo, when the car he was cranking was struck by another vehicle in Mill Road, Whangarei, on Saturday night. He was taken to the Whangarei Hospital.

Mr Holmes’ car had stalled and as he was cranking the engine another car ran into the back of his vehicle. Mr Holmes was knocked to the ground and his car passed over him. The driver of' the'second car, Mr Trevor Henry Pawson, received minor injuries when his head struck the windshield, but he was allowed to go home after treatment. Both cars were extensively damaged.
