Whakatane Surf Club Practice For Maunganui

The Whakatane Surf Life Saving Club held its first practice for the Maunganui Surf Carnival on Sunday, Messrs M. McGill and G. Stenhouse instructing. The women’s four gave a very good performance, as did the six. Mrs T. Danks and Miss J. Wilson were in the belts. Both these teams went well and with hard practice and more polished movements, should go well at the carnival. The men’s four worked with precision and should turn into a good team. The men’s six went smoothly up to the point of bringing the patient up to the beach; from then on the movements will require a lot of practice. A practice for the women’s teams has been arranged for Tuesday evening at Ohope and for the men’s teams on Wednesday night at the domain.
