Auckland Racing Club: Queen City Carnival

The flags will be flying at Ellerslie on Boxing Day for the opening of the Auckland Racing Club’s Holiday Carnival of four days. “The high light” of the day will be the Auckland Cup of £IO,OOO, the highest prize in the history of New Zealand, to which will be added £250 for the trainer of the winner. High class contestants will face the starter throughout, and included in the gallopers to be spiritedly supported will be:—

Queen’s Plate, First Division: Sweet Nymph, Liebestraum. Second: Equator, Ruling Prince. Grafton Hurdles: Bright Fox, Skyhawk, Lucky Alex. G.N. Foal Stakes: Magical, Tauloch, Chubin. AUCKLAND CUP: Foxw'yn (18), Signal Officer (12), King’s Ransom (4). Robinson Handicap, First Division: Night Venture, Faithful Knight. • Second: Vigilantia, Princessita. Third: Lola May, Martionair. Railway Sleepy Fox (1), Majesty (12), Great Trek (4). Nursery Handicap, First Division: Regality, Lady Brazen. Second: Regal Gold, Coonbridge. .Christmas Handicap: Exeter, Master Coronach, Distinction.
