Plunket Society Meets
The President, Mrs R. T. Morpeth, presided over a good attendance of members at the December meeing of the Whakatane branch of the Plunket Society. Apologies were received from Mesdames Dainton, Zinsli, Metcalfe, Buttimore and Dallas. Donations of £2 2s from the Beacon Publishing Coy. and the Registered Nurses’ Association were received.
Miss J. Woodhead, Assistant Nursing Adviser, recently visited Whakatane and worked with Sister Armstrong for a few days in this district.
The Headquarters of the Mothercraft Training Society, London, which suffered severe bomb damage, is in need of woollen baby garments. It was decided that each committee member bring one or more garments to the February meeting. The committee decided to appeal to all who are interested in this Worthy cause and who have good used or new woollen baby garments which can be spared, either to leave them at the Plunket rooms or get in touch with the secretary who will arrange collection. It was reported that this year’s annual appeal was very satisfactory and that the committee was grateful to all who gave goods and cash for this purpose.
