Jordan to the annual meeting of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce on Thursdaynight that he had heard from someone who had spoken to them that Government surveyors were on the job. A letter from the National Airways Corporation informed the Chamber that the Corporation could not give consideration to the inclusion of Whakatane in the air network until an aerodrome was available, but as soon as that lack was overcome consideration to the problem would be given.

Mr R. T. Morp.eth, president, said the Chamber had been given to understand that the construction of an aerodrome had high priority amongst Government works, but it would probably take time.
