WOMAN SLIGHTLY INJURED WHEN CAR OVERTURNS

A woman passenger, Mrs J. W. Sumner, of Awakeri, was slightly injured and admitted to the District Hospital on Saturday afternoon as the result of a motor accident on McLean’s road, Awakeri. Mrs Sumner and Mrs D. Brophy, of Edgecumbe, were passengers in a car driven by Mrs A. E. Hawken, of Edgecumbe, when it went into an uncontrollable skid and rolled on its side. Weather was bad and the road greasy at the time. Mesdames Hawken • and Brophy escaped with a shaking and bruises, but Mrs Sumner had to be taken into the hospital in the- ambulance. Her injuries are not serious.
