Factors Affecting Production
The need for incentive to be given manufacturers to produce the goods and for employers'and employees to realise the importance of costs in industry was emphasised by Mr G. C. W. Reid, the new president of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association, at the annual meeting. He instanced the burden of taxation and the growing influence of the Price Tribunal as deterrents to production and said that if the costs factor was better appreciated by employees they might be more interested in* their work. Over 100. members of the association attended the meeting.
