Set-Up Of ShareMilkers’ Section Of N.Z. Federated Farmers

“The Sharemilkers’ Section of Federated Farmers is a section managed entirely by the sharemilker members of the Federation with no interference from any other section,” says a statement by the Section made available for publication. “Its set-up is the same as the other sections—it has a Dominion executive, Provincial executives, sub-provincial executives, consisting of representatives of all types of sharemilking, 50-50, 39 per cent and 29 per cent. This section has representation on the Dominion Dairy Council and a seat on the Waikato Dairy Section executive. “Dispute committees have been set up in each district where there is a branch of the Section. These committees meet committees from the Sharemilker Employers’ Section when any dispute arises, and these disputes are settled within the Federation with no outside body interfering. “This set-up we claim will lead to a better understanding between sharemilker and employer than there ever was before. Facilities are' there for all sharemilkers to join this section and take a hand in running their own affairs, for who is more able to understand sharemilking problems than sharemilkers themselves?”
