Taxi Proprietor In Hospital: Two Vehicles Badly Damaged: Collision Near Awakeri

As a result of a motor collision on the Awakeri Hot Springs road on Friday evening, Mr J. O. Fletcher, Awakeri taxi proprietor, is in the Whakatane Hospital, hut it is understood his condition is not serious. The driver of the other vehicle involved, Mr Tui Ihaia, was also slightly injured, but was able to go home. Both Mr Fletcher’s car and the lorry driven by Mr Ihaia were badly damaged in the collision, which occurred on a bend about a mile from the Awakeri Hot Springs at about 5.30 p.m. Friday.
