Cow’s Thirty-first Birthday

Her thirty-first birthday was celebrated recently by Barbara, a cow owned by Mr S. P. Miller, of Taumarunui. She is not given any special feed and is left to forage for herself on ordinary pastures. She has had 28 calves since she was born in 1916. Her fame was spread to England. Viscount Bledisloe, when he returned after his recent visit to New Zealand, gave a full story of the cow to a British journai.
