Increased Interest Shown In Caledonian Affairs
Increased interest in the affairs of the Whakatane District Caledonian Society was indicated by the large attendance at the annual meeting last week. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr T. ' Grant, Galatea; chief, Mr D. Andersen, Whakatane; secretary-treasurer, Mr W. G. Hurst, Whakatane; chieftains, Messrs H. D. Paterson and W. Howat, Senr.; executive committee, Mrs M. Craig and Messrs T. H. Ferguson, E. S. Mackay, H. Mole, and J. Alexander; auditor, Mr A. Nicol, Whakatane; Pipe Major, Mr H. D. Paterson ;band committee, Messrs W. Howat Sen., Whakatane, T. H. Ferguson, Whakatane, and W. J. Simons, Poroporo; social •committee, Mesdames J. King, K. Fergusson, C. F.
