Rod And Gun Club Shoot
Another very pleasant day was enjoyed by shooters who took part in the “Picnic” shot held by the Whakatane Rod and Gun Club on Sunday. Visitors were present from Rotorua, Te Puke and Taneatua. The standard of shooting was good and 13 possibles were scored during the day. Detailed results were:—
Eye-Opener, 5 Birds: R. Ricketts and J. Plamus, possibles; 10 Bird Sweep: A. Mitchell (10) 1; W. Hume, M .Matchitt and J. Plamus (9 each) 2, equal; 5 Bird Sweep: W. Kenyon,' W. Davies, C. Mitchell, W. Costello, J. Plamus and J. McLeod possibles; 15 Bird Sweep (all off 16yds): J. Plamus (1,5),1;,M. Matchitt (13) .2; J. Tebbutt (12) 3; Gimcrack, 5 Birds, back 2yds each hit: S. 'Kerr and R. Ricketts possibles; Quail Drive: S. Kerr 1; M. Matchitt, A. Mitchell, J. Plamus, J. McLeod and P. Mayo, equal; 10 Bird Sweep: W. Hume 1 with the possible, S. Kerr and W. Tyssen 2 equal, one down.
