Unintentional Visitors Make Up Quorum
It was not until copies of the annual report were handed round at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Winter Show Association at the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening that four of those present realised they were in the wrong meeting. The four had come Over from Ohope to attend a mee/ting of the Xmas-New Year Carnival Committee and one of their number explained the position, with apologies. The president, Mr H. G., Warren, assured them they were not intruding. In fact, he welcomed them warmly. Apologies had been coming in thickly, and the attendance was thin. The visitors made up the number required for a quorum, so they were pressed to stay and give the meeting a start. Then they moved on to the County Council Chambers and the meeting they had meant to attend.
