WOMEN’S DIVISION

TANEATUA BRANCH The September meeting of the Taneatua branch, Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, was held in the hall supper room with Mrs Prince presiding. The meeting opened with the reading of the Creed after which minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. In the absence of the secretary, Mrs Downes filled that position. Members brought gifts for a food parcel for Britain and it is hoped to despatch a parcel each month. Discussion took place as to which month would be best for the holding of a garden party in aid of funds. A decision will be made at' a fuller meeting. Competitions were judged as follows: Single flower: Mrs Olliver 1, Mrs Grey 2, Mrs - Reeves 3. Double Flower: Mrs Grace 1, Mrs Grey 2, Mrs Olliver 3. Shrub: Mrs Prince 1, Mrs Grey 2, Mrs Reeves 3. Machine-made apron: Mrs Olliver 1, Mrs Grey 2. Marmalade: Mrs Grey 1, Mrs Prince 2.
