THORNTON CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING The September meeting of the •club was attended by a good muster of members. The minutes, correspondence and treasurers’ report were read and. confirmed, and after the general business and other club matters, members were shown a group of films by Mr E. R. Marryatt, Fields Instructor. Several local - farmers were present. At the conclusion, Mr M. Law, Club Chairman, thanked Mr Marryatt for his very interesting and instructive films. The meeting closed after supper at 10.30 p.m. Football Match Recently a football game was arranged between the above club and Otakiri Y.F.C. This was a return match for the game played last year and resulted in a win for Thornton by 12 points to 10. Points were scored by M. Law, J. Law and T. Mexied for Thornton and by R. Linsell and Len Broadmore who was loaned for the occasion and kicked a brilliant drop-kick for Otakiri. Mr O. Lord of Otakiri, was the xeierce.
