MANAWAHE EFFORT
FOOD FOR BRITAIN FUND
SUCCESSFUL DANCE
A well attended dance was held at Manawahe on Friday, October 3. The function was organised by the local Hall Committee with the object of raising funds to be spent on the despatch of food parcels to Britain. Tickets sold throughout the Manawahe district helped to swell the profits with the result that the very satisfactory sum of £9 15s was realised. This enables the Hall Committee to despatch thirteen parcels containing meats and fats to individual addresses in Britain. The names- of all families in the Mana-wahe district were put into a ballot and thirteen names were drawn to determine those who should nominate addresses in Britain to which the parcels should be despatched. Those selected to nominate addresses were: Mrs G. Theobald, Mrs McMillan, Mrs Kennon, Mrs L. Rendall, Mrs Challis, Mrs McClughan, Mrs Munro, Mrs Wilson, Mrs Thompson, Mrs Relf, Mrs K. Rendall. Mrs B. Kane and Mrs Bowden!
