XMAS AND NEW YEAR PERIOD

s TENTATIVE PROGRAMME FRAMED

The special sub-committee appointed by the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce to investivate the possibilities of conducting a carnival meeting over the Xmas and New Year holiday period has not been idle.

At a recent meeting the following tentative programme which will be submitted to a public meeting in „the near future was. formally approved.

Wednesday, December 24, 2 p.m.: Children’s Fancy Dress Parade, Boy’s Band, Children in Fancy Dress, Decorated Bicycles, Tricycles, Prams, etc. (If fine—parade to terminate at the Civic Square—band on .platform, Xmas Tree, Father Christmas.to distribute prizes to winners in the fancy dress and decorated ; vehicles etc. parade. If wet —Parade to terminate at the Wiriter Show Buildings.)
