MUSICAL EVENING

PRESBYTERIAN GATHERING

ENJOYABLE PRESENTATION

On Monday night, September 29, a very enjoyable musical evening was held in Knox Sunday School Hall. The hall was most beautifully arranged with flowers, carpets and items of furniture providing a drawing room setting which added to the happy informality of the evening and enhanced the enjoyment of the fine and varied programme presented. The programme was as follows: Song Competition, Vocal Solo: Floral Dance, Mr F. Watson. Pianoforte Duet: Habanera and March (Carmen) Mrs Breward and Mrs K. Schofield. Vocal Duet: Cradle Song, Misses R. Garaway and D. Stewart. Violin Solos: Morris Ddnce Barraolle, Mrs J. Larmer. Ladies’ Trio: Little Old Garden, Misses R. Garaway, D. Stewart and Mrs K. Schofield. Pianoforte Solo: Mrs K. Schofield. Vocal Duet: Down*'the Vale, Mrs Schofield and Mr Watson. Violin Solos: Tempo di Minuetto Gavotte, Mrs Ladmer. Vocal Solo: Mr F. Watson. Pianoforte Duet: Rigoletto, Mrs Breward and Mrs K. Schofield. Humorous Sketch: Haste to the Wedding. Ladies’ Part Song: Blossom of the Misses R. Watson, M. Armour, H. White and Mrs Schofield. Recitation: The Glory of the Garden, Mrs Schofield. Ladies’ Trio: A Perfect Day, Misses R. Garaway, D. Stewart and Mrs Schofield. At the close of the programme the chairman, the Rev. H. M. Bell, r thanked Mrs A. Martin and Mrs A. Breward for their good work in decorating and arranging the hall, those who had part in providing such a delightful programme and especially Mrs K. Schofield for originating and organising such a successful musical evening.

A bountiful supper, provided by the ladies of the congregation followed and the evening was brought to a close with the Benediction.
