MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
Those present at the last meeting of the R.S.A. executive were Messrs L. H. Brown (chair), D. S. Wilson, C. R. Wilson, J. C. Cannell, W. Coates, T. Macken, J. Bryant, C. A. Head, A. Hall, J. Stewart, A. J. Atkinson, J. H. Armstrong, G. Otley, T. H. Morgan, G. Santon, L. W. Luxton, G. Logan, Rev. Rangi and L. M. Roach (secretary). . Apologies were received from Messrs. N. Patterson and J. Hyland.
Advice was received from Headquarters that Mr C. A. Head had been awarded the N.Z.R.S.A. Certificate and Gold Star Badge in recognition of his long and outstanding services in the interests of exservicemen. Mr Brown extended his congratulations to Mr Head stating that the honour, which was the first to come to the Whakatane Association was indeed well earned. Members expressed their appreciation by acclamation. Food Parcels for Britain: The secretary was instructed to obtain from Headquarters a list of names and addresses of British ex-Ser-vicemen and it was left to the president, vice-president and secretary to arrange the dispatch of food parcels.
Farms Advisory Committee : Messrs. L. H. Brown and C. R. Wilson were appointed to act in conjunction with the Dominion Executive Land Sub-Committee.
Anzac Day: A proposal to change the name of Anzac Day to National Commemoration Day was not supported and it was unanimously agreed that the name of Anzac Day should be retained.
