ROTARY

FOOD FOR BRITAIN CAMPAIGN

LIST OPENED

President Harry Warren presided at the weekly luncheon of the Whakatane Rotary Club last Wednesday when after a friendly discussion it was decided to open a subscription list in aid of the Food for Britain Campaign, which will be devoted to bulk purchases through the Red Cross organisation. Members agreed with the-, president that some immediate action was desirable in view of the pressing need for relief. It was considered further however that a more stabilised effort should be made, whereby food parcels could be sent to Rotary groups in Britain for distribution. The luncheon took the form of a ‘Story’ meeting and members spent a happy twenty minutes in relating personal experiences and anecdotes.
