OBITUARY

MR WILLIAM E. PARKINSON

The death occurred at his brother’s residence Awakaponga, Whakatane, on Sunday of a well-known Opotiki resident in the person of Mr William Edward Parkinson. He had been in indifferent health for some time, a few years ago being involved in a bad accident when his car caught fire. His health had never fully recovered from the injuries received at that time. He took a keen interest in sport and Rugbyfootball and was connected with the United Club in later years, acting as secretary and later on as president.

He was a son of the late Mr W. W. B. Parkinson and years agowith his father and three brothers was a member of the Opotiki Band. He leaves two sons, Stanley and Barry, five sisters and two brothers to mourn their loss.
