SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR
EDGECUMBE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH .FIRST FOR TEN YEARS From an early hour on Saturday morning the Presbyterian Church Hall. at Edgecumbe was the scene of intense activity. The occasion was the first bazaar to be held there in aid of the church for about ten years.
Th weather was perfect and at 11 a.m. the Rev. J. H. Starnes officially opened the Bazaar and Mrs Armstrong in her capacity as organiser of the function expressed her thanks to all the willing helpers. Throughout the day a continual stream of people kept those in charge of the stall very busy. Although there was an enormous amount of goods of every variety on sale little was left by 4.30 p.m. The takings on all the stalls were considerable, showing the splendid support accorded the Women’s Fellowship, under whose direction the bazaar was sponsored. The actual figures show that the church building fund will benefit to the extent of over £IBO, a very worth while effort indeed.
