YOUTH INJURED

CAR AND MOTOR CYCLE COLLIDE The second motor cycle accident within the short space of a month occurred in Commerce Street at about 10.30 last Tuesday night. The rider, Derek Edward Dahl of Awakeri, who is employed at the Whakatane Paper Mills, was admitted to hospital suffering from injuries to the neck. s The accident occurred when a car driven by Mr F. G. Macklow, which Dahl was attempting to pass, turned into Simpkin’s Street. The machine collided with the side of the car and the rider was flung against the side window, smashing it with his head.

His escape from more serious injury is regarded as amazing.
