PRESENTATION

: MATRON RUNCIMAN HONOURED A pleasing little evening took place last Sunday in the Nurses dining room, Whakatane Hospital, when members of the Domestic and Porters staff gathered to tender their farewells to Matron Runciman who will shortly be retiring from her position after many years service in the nursing profession.

The social programme passed pleasantly with poi dances, and wai • atas by members of the domestic staff, and items, by the porters. Miss Janie Nepia for the domestics presented Miss Runciman with an Irish linen tablecloth and. a set of silver desert, soup and teaspoons. For the porters, Mr T. Atkinson presented a set of chirkaware, a glass mirrorbacked tray and a silver fruit bowl.

Matron Runciman expressed her warmest thanks, and recounted her many happy asociations with the hospital, its nursing and administrative staffs.
