FEDERATED FARMERS

BAY OF PLENTY PROVINCE REMITS DISCUSSED Representatives of the Bay of Plenty Sub-Province of Federated Farmers (Auckland Province) met in Tauranga last week to deal with various remits forwarded by branches, and to receive the report by the committee appointed to meet representatives- of the Waikato SubProvince and also the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Provinces of Federated Farmers of New Zealand. In accordance with the direction of the Auckland meeting a new committee was appointed to go further in the question of local affairs in the sub-province and again to meet representatives of the Bay of Plenty Province together with Waikato representatives, at a future date. The committee elected consisted of the president and Messrs. W. Nichol and J. N. Blaymires; Messrs. J. Nielsen and I. Vercoe to substitute for the appointees if the necessity arose. Among other remits dealt with were those dealing with the export price of primary produce, the newly instituted ' petrol restrictions by Government departments, affecting officers of the Department of Agriculture, and the alleviation of the burden likely to fall on the primary producer with the removal of subsidies.
