FRIDAY’S C.0.R.5.0. APPEAL
WHAKATANE can always be depended upon to support a worthy cause. The town in the past has responded gerierously to practically every appeal made in its main street. On Friday next the public will be called upon to support the funds of C.O.R.S.O.—the broadest relief scheme ever conceived in the interests of suffering humanity. This organisation is a world-wide one dedicated entirely to the alleviation of distress-wherever it .may be. Past activities in Whakatane have shown that the community has extended a ready sympathy towards the growing demands of this organisation. Understanding of the vast undertaking it espouses has resulted in collections and money donations meeting with remarkable success. Friday’s effort, we feel, will be no exception and the cause of C.0.R.5.0. will once again be warmly supported by the people of this town.
