WHAKATANE LADIES CLUB This week Wednesday and Saturday have been set aside for the second round of championship and flight matches. The matches may not necessarily be played on these days but the second round must be played before September 22. The first round of the senior champs resulted:— Mrs Symmans beat Mrs Fogerty; Miss Black beat Mrs Dewar; Mrs Thomas beat. Mrs Berg; Miss Robins beat Mrs Armstrong. The second round will be: Mrs Symmans v Miss Black; Mrs Thomas v Miss Robins. The first round of the Intermediate Champs resulted: Mrs Luxton beat Miss Carter; Miss Lane beat Mrs Combes; Miss Hyland beat Mrs Grey; Mrs Fraser beat Miss Otley; Miss Armstrong beat Mrs Winstone; Mrs Sloane beat Mrs Reardon; Miss Baxter beat Mrs Fennell;. Mrs Otley beat Mrs Sisam. The second round will be: Mrs Luxton v Miss Lane; Miss Hyland • v Mrs Fraser; Miss Armstrong v Mrs Sloane; Miss Baxter v Mrs Otley. The first round of the Bronze •division flight wil be: Miss Carter v Mrs Combes; Mrs Grey v Miss Otley; Mrs Winstone v Mrs Reardon; Mrs Fennell v Mrs Sisam.
The first round Junior Champs resulted: Mrs Miles beat Miss Gartshore; Mrs Mussett beat Mrs Ernest; .Mrs Stone beat Miss McLeod; Mrs Ingle beat Mrs Lovelock. Hay ter Cup: The finalists in the Hayter Cup competition are Mrs Symmans and Miss Robins. Boon Cup: The finalists in the Boon Cup competition are Miss Suckling and Mrs Sisam. The second round of the Bronze Consolation to be played this week are Miss Suckling v Mrs Semmens and Mrs Pearse v the winner of Mrs Burke and Miss Wilson.. Bay of Plenty Tournament
Entries for the Bay of Plenty Ladies’ Golf Tournament to be held on the Whakatane links on 23rd, 24th and 25th instant must be made to the secretary, Box 52, Whakatane, on or before Wednesday, 17th instant. H Handicaps Recent reductions in handicaps are Mrs Symmans 11, Miss Black 12, Miss Robins 12, Mrs Thomas 18, Miss Reynolds 19, Miss Armstrong 27, Miss Lane 33, Mrs Ingle 34, Mrs Smith 32.
