PIPE BAND REUNION

. GALA PLANNED FOR OHOPE NEW YEAR’S DAY SPORTS Whakatane Caledonian Society has been allocated the annual reunion, or gathering of the South Auckland Pipe Bands, to coincide with the Grand Sports Gala at Ohope Beach on New Year’s Day. This will be the first occasion on which the local Society has been honoured by such a gathering, and it is expected that some ten bands will take part including Hamilton, Ngaruawahia, • Rotorua, Tauranga, Morrinsville, Pukekohe, Te Aroha, Whakatane and several other bands from Auckland itself.

The Society has set itself out to make the occasion an outstanding one which will attract a record crowd, and will supply record entertainment.
