Donation To Plunket Society
The Borough Council has made its usual donation of £2O to the local branch of the N.Z. Plunket Society. Borough Roll Increase The new electoral roll for the Borough of Whakatane as compiled by the Town Clerk numbers 1800 — an increase of 400 on the previous roll in spite of the 250 names deleted for removals- and deaths. The new roll will be advertised for inspection in the hear future. Problem For Borough Application for water and electricity was made by L. P. Evans to the Borough Council last Monday evening for a house on an unformed county roadway. The actual section though inside# the Borough boundary is served by a County road running parallel to Bridge Street. “I’ve been expecting this,” remarked the Mayor in commenting on the application. We have a real problem here and I think it best to refer it to the Works Committee for investigation and report. This course was adopted.
