“Balloon Busters” With the appearance of balloons on the market a new sport appears to have developed among the boys of Whakatane. August Rainfall The total rainfall for August as recorded on the Rangitaiki Plains was 6.22 inches which fell on 16 dais. The greatest individual fall was recorded on the 25th with 3 inches. The total for the year to date is 42.72 inches as against 38.94 inches for a similar periodjast year. The fall recorded for August, 1946, was 6.04 inches.
