CORSO’S PLEA FOR INSTRUMENTS
ONE THERMOMETER FOR ENTIRE HOSPITAL Although to date there had been no material response to Corso’s appeal to New Zealand nurses and doctors for medical instruments for use in China, Wellington executives of the organisation were hopeful that a good supply would be forthcoming in time to be shipped next week. The appeal from Corso nurses and doctors in China for these instruments is urgent. As a Corso executive in Wellington said: “The position is pretty grim over there, when there is only one thermometer for an entire hospital.” A ship which is going to China will be loading in Wellington, and an effort is to be made to put a supply of instruments on board. The equipment needed includes forceps, thermometers, scissors, suture needles, hypodermic syringes, first-aid kits, and any basic surgical'and dental instruments at all.
