MUSICAL EXAMINATION

TRINITY COLLEGE SUCCESSES ALL WHAKATANE CANDIDATES SUCCESSFUL On August 11, the practical examination of Trinity College, London, was conducted by the visiting examiner, Miss Mary Tweedie, at St. Joseph’s Convent, Whakatane. All the candidates were successful. The marks required were 65 for Pass, 75 for Merit, 85 for Honours. Detailed results were:— 'Junior Grade: Pauline Davies (Honours) 85 (Mrs Peebles) ; Shirley Whyte (Merit) 82; Gael Carpenter (Merit) 80.

Advanced Preparatory Grade Yvonne Zinsli (Pass) 71.

Preparatory Grade: Alan Notley (Honours) 85; Colleen Donald (Pass) 72.

First Step Grade: Mary Waterhouse (Honours) 85; Yvonne Kenyon (Merit) 78; Shirley Brabant (Pass) 72. Initial Grade: Mark Dainton (Honours) 89; Dennis Notley (Honours) 89; Graham Waite (Honours) 89; Denice Stewart (Honours) 87; Janice Bell (Honours) 86; Marcienne Waite (Merit) 82; lan Dainton (Merit) 78. Mrs Goodwin’s Pupils Senior Grade: Beryl Brashier (Pass) 70. Intermediate Grade: Marjorie Sheat (Pass) 72; Margaret Arbuckle (Pass) 70. Junior Grade: Judy Ferguson (Pass) 69. In the June Theory Examination 20 candidates gained Honours (nine gained 100 marks) and four Merit. The results are as follows: Intermediate Grade: Yvonne McNaughton 75. Advanced Junior:' Phyllis Rivett 91. ‘ Junior Grade: Alan Notley 100, Kathleen Farrell 88, Jeanette McDonald 88, Shirley Whyte 85, Colleen Donald 81.
