EDGECUMBE AFFAIRS

PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION Despite the inclement weather the meeting convened on Tuesday evening the sth inst. in Bell’s Hall, was very well attended by residents of Edgecumbe and surrounding district.

It was unanimously decided to form an association to be named the Edgecumbe Progressive Association and the enthusiasm shown by all present and the keen competition for the election of office bearers and the executive committee augurs well for its future success.

A general meeting' will be held at an early date to consider the policy now being framed by the executive.

Intending members are advised to get in touch with either the chairman, Mr H. M. Woolett, or the hon. secretary, Mr H. M. Carter, both of Edgecumbe. '
