The Auckland Cup on the first day of the Auckland Racing Club’s Summer Meeting at Ellerslie on Boxing Day, December 26, this year will carry a stake of £IO,OOO and a -gold cup. valued at £IOO, making it one of- the richest races in Australia and New Zealand and on a plane with" the Melbourne Cup and the Doomben Ten Thousand. In addition there will be a special award of £250 to the trainer of the winner. "Systems are unimportant,” he observed, concerning the world situation. “We know that to be Marshal Stalin’s view. British people believe in their, system, Americans in their’s, and the Russians in their’s. Over and above these differences they have one great question in common—how t© secure world peace?”
