RUATOKI MAORI’S INJURIES BENZINE EXPLODES Extensive burns to the legs and thighs were suffered by a young Maori of Ruatoki, Sunshine Ranapia, last Saturday when he was endeavouring to prime his car with petrol. His clothing became saturated in the process and by some means the petrol ignited. He was extensively burnt and removed to his hut by his mates who later endeavoured to secure .the District Nurse. He was removed on Sunday by members of the St. John Ambulance and taken to the Whakatane Hospital. Although his injuries are very -extensive*his condition this niorning was considered very satisfactory.
