Shadow Weight: A. Raymond 6.5£ (Mt. Maunganui) beat J. Kahn 6.1 (Ngongotaha) on points. Final: A. Anderson 6.5 (Hamilton) beat A. Raymond 6. 5$ on points. Paperweight: A. Anderson 6.5 (Hamilton) beat T. Hunt 6.7 h (Whakatane) on a T.K.O. Flyweight: N. Simpson 11.7 (Katikati) beat P. Johnson 7.5 (Tauranga) on points; A. McKinnon 7.5 (Ngongotaha) beat K. Crawford 7.4 (Mt. Maunganui) on points; C. Somers 7.13 (Mt. Maunganui) lost to E. Corbett 7.8 (Hamilton) on points. Semi-finals: E. Corbett 7.8 (Hamilton) beat B. Williams 7.13 (Opotiki) on points; A. McKinnon 8.0 (Ngongotaha) beat N. Simpson 7.11 (Katikati) on points. Final: E. Corbett beat A. McKinnon on a T.K.O. in the second i;ound. McKinnon was awarded the trophy for the gamest loser.

Bantamweight: C. Curtis 8.5 (Opotiki) beat N. Crawford 8.52- (Mt. Maunganui) on points.

Gilpin 9.5 (Tauranga) beat P. Knight 9.7 (Ngongotaha) on points; J. Robinson 9.6 (Opotiki) beat J. Baty 9.8 (Whakatane). The referee stopped the bout in the second round, but Baty seemed to be fighting back quite strongly. Semi-finals: J. Robinson 9.6 (Opotiki) beat I. London 9.5 (Tauranga). The referee stopped the fight in the third round.

N. Smith 9.9 (Hamilton) beat S. Gilpin 9.5 (Tauranga) in points. Final, Lightweight:, N. Smith beat J. Robinson on a T.K.O. in the third round.
