AMPLE WOOLPACKS
MILLION FOR NEXT SEASON FIFTH MADE IN NEW ZEALAND The New Zealand Wool Board has received assurance that ample supplies of woolpacks for the next season’s clip will be available, it is disclosed in a report of the monthly meeting of the board, held last week in Wellington. Approximately 800,000 packs are being imported from India, and 200,000 New Zealand made packs will also be available.
These New Zealand packs, manufactured in the Domini®n since before the wax - ai’e made fi’om flax. This is a material improvement in the situation which existed last season, when there was an acute insufficiency of woolpacks. The Wool Board is also enquiring into the uses of a new loom called the Badcleley Shuttleless Loom which has already been the subject of reports from the International Wool Secretariat in London, and which may offer additional resources for the manufacture of woolpacks. ~ • mv&zsy?
