ALMOST £51,000,000

MONEY AUTHORISED Rising by almost £2,000,000 during May, rehabilitation authorisations for all purposes reached £50,951,912 by the end of that month. The passing of the £50,000,000 was marked by a month in which loan authorisations to ex-servicemen for farms, houses, businesses, furniture, tools of trade and other miscellaneous purposes showed no signs of a declining demand, but on the contrary displayed an upward trend of more than £200,000 on the figure for April. Loan figures by the end of May were brought to £38,178,085. Moneys authorised for the purchase and development of land for the settlement of ex-servicemen rose noticeably by £340,000 to reach £6,443,159.
