The sale of the stoker formerly in use at the Whakatane Hospital to the Thames Hospital Board at a price of £IOO was reported at the o meeting of the Hospital Board on Thursday. Domestic Staff

That the number engaged on the domestic staff of the hospital should be made available to board members was a point raised by Mr McCready. The chairman stated that these should bp easy to get. « -■ < Future of Petrol

“Will the Minister of Supply state the position in regard to the future supply of petrol?” asked Mr W. Sullivan (National, Bay of Plenty) in the House of Representatives. Reports were circulated, he said, regarding the likelihood of rationing, and transport operators and users were much concerned.

Engineer’s Work Praised Parise of the work done by the engineer to the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board was recorded at Thursday’s meeting. Several members remarked on the improved appearanceof the engine room and a general improvement in all matters which were under the engineer’s jurisdiction.

Red Cross Life Membership In order to materially assist the finances of the Red Cross Society an invitation is extended to those in terested-to'become life members. The fee is £5 and already the subcentre has received two applications for life memberships. Those wishing to subscribe are asked to forward their subscription to the sub-centre treasurer, Mr N. Patterson.
