DRAMATIC GROUP

FORMATION IN WHAKATANE FUNDS IN HAND ' It is the intention of a group of interested people to commence a Dramatic Society in Whakatane. A portion of the funds taken at the recent drama evening reported in this issue have been allocated to this end and it is hoped that an early start will be made. Judging from the interest taken in the recent plays audiences will be readily forthcoming but the problem at the moment is to find sufficient players. Local dramatic groups such as the one proposed are capable of a very definite influence in any centre besides providing, on occasion, a novel and enjoyable type of entertainment.

It is to be hoped that the proposed society will come into being in the near future and take 'its rightful place in the cultural activities of this town.
