Generator Thefts
Two cases in which a generator has been stolen from bicycles have come to the notice of the Beacon recently. A young man who left his cycle beside a shop in the town some weeks ago discovered on his return that the cycle was in a different position. and that both the generator and headlight had been removed. . The second case "syas one in which the bracket was broken to permit the removal of the generator. Both the headlight and generator were rusted in position and the thief had twisted'the bracket back and forth until it smashed. The police have been informed of the theft and it is to be hoped that the culprit or culprits responsible will be apprehended. Jn the meantime cyclists would be well advised to “keep an eye on” their lighting sets.
