ALTERED DECISION ————— y REASONS EXPLAINED Reasons for the alteration of the decision in a bout at the recent tournament in Whakatane were given a Beacon representative recently. Actually the decision was not altered at all but merely corrected. In his hurry the announcer made a mistake in reading the judge’s slips. He announced the decision and was quickly informed that it was wrong. He then had to announce the result as a draw. The match was one between S. Wright (Mt. Maunganui) - and J. Stevenson (Ohope) the decision being first given to Wright and then stated as a draw. Officials of the tournament are anxious that the public be informed that the decision of a draw was correct and that the original decision was not altered, but merely corrected.
