REGENT THEATRE

“THREE STRANGERS” Thursday 19, Friday 20. Warner Bros., those past masters in the art of screen melodrama, have scored again with “Three Strangers,” their newest drama of murder and intrigue at the Regent Theatre. Co-star-ring Sydney Greenstreet, Geraldine Fitzgerald and Peter Lorre as the trio of the film’s title, the new picture, executed with superb excitement and mounting suspense, is reminiscent of that other mystery masterpiece, “The Maltese Falcon,” and bids fair to become number one contender in this season’s entries for a worthy successor.
