WAIMANA NEWS

GIFT EVENING A veiry pleasant gift evening was held in the Waimana Hall recently in honour of Miss Muriel Spanhake who has since been married. The large crowd present danced to music provided by Mr A. Bell and helpers. The Monte Carlo and novelty dances proved as popular as ever, the Monte Carlo being won by Mr and Mrs N. Eagle. Mr John Cransivick made a capable M.C.

After supper Mr N. Eagle, on behalf of all present, made -'a- short speech and asked the guests of the evening, Miss Spanhake and Mr Leslie Robertson, to come forward and accept the many attractive gifts with the best wishes of their many friends.

Mr Robertson, speaking on behalf of himself and his fiancee expresesd their thanks for the gifts and the very enjoyable evening. . Dancing continued until a late hour. ’.
