BOARD'S ANNUAL MEETING HELP FROM SPORTS BODIES The annual meeting of the Edgecumbe Domain Board was attended by Messrs. O. V. Marx (chairman), J. Mullins (secretary), J. H. Russell, W. J. R. Thompson, J. Irvine and C. E. Thompson. Reviewing the year’s work, the chairman said it was gratifying that the interest of sports bodies had stimulated the activities of the board with the result that improvements had been put into effect, and the Domain wast now being used for sporting events. The chairman paid a tribute to the Edgecumbe Hockey Club whom he said, had completed a great deal of work and fspent not a little money in furthering the interest of their own sport. He indicated that co-operation between the Board and the Club was of the best and would prove of great benefit. The statement of accounts showed a credit balance of £366 9s lOd. During the year £27 was spent on improvements. Further improvements are to be put in hand. For maijy years the Domain has been leased for cattle grazing, but this practice is to cease and an endeavour made to graze the area with sheep. Mr Marx was again elected chairman unopposed.
