YOUNG FARMERS
DEBATING CONTEST \ WAIMANA v TANEATUA Recently the Waimana and Taneatua Young Farmers’ Clubs debated the subject, “That a primary producing country is more enduring than an industrial one.” The Taneatua team took the affirmative. The teams were as follows: , Waimana; J. Cranswick (Leader), W. Macdonald and J. Marra. Taneatua: G. Hill (Leader), H. Fleming and G. O’Brien. Mr Hubbard who judged the contest gave his decision in favour of Waimana , by 276 points to 239. He commented on the high standard shown by both sides. Mr C. R. White acted as chairman and timekeeper.
