FLOOD VICTIMS THANKS
WHAKATANE GUILD’S GIFT LETTER FROM WORCESTER How a case of clothes sent to Britain by the Whakatane Lady Galway Guild provided welcome assistance for families at Worcester who has suffered because of floods is related in a letter received by the convenor from the Worcester City Wo- • men’s Voluntary Services.
The letter, dated March 26, when England was suffering floods following the thaw, is as' follows: “It is with much gratitude that we write to thank you all for a case of clothes which has been sent to us from our Headquarters, and which we see by a note inside came from the "Whakatane Lady Galway Guild.
Probably when you sent these, things you thought they would be used for victims of the blitz, but we have had them for distribution among the many families here who suffered from the recent floods. You can imagine how glad the people were to have these things, as many of them had only the clothes they were wearing when they were flooded out.
We thought you might like to see a copy of Berrow’s Worcester Journal, as it gives particulars of the relief work done, and also pictures of the floods. If any of your members come from this part of the Old Country they will be interested, perhaps, in the local news. So, once again to say to our friends on the other side of the world, "Thank you and God bless you all.”
