Armstrong. Miss Robins returned another very good card 92—18—74 winning the June Silver L.G.p - . Medal and reducing her handicap to 16. Mrs Fennell won the Bronze Medal 100 —32—68 reducing her handicap by 7 followed by Miss Reynolds 101— 27—74 who reduced her handicap by 1. The weather prevailed for the King’s Birthday tournament the morning medals were won by’ Miss Robins 88—18—70 and Mrs Fennell 107—32—75 and the afternoon Stablefoi’d went to Miss Black 36 and Miss Reynolds 27.

WHAKATANE MEN'S CLUB

The following is the draw for the first round of the Clarke Cup, to be played next weekend if possible, otherwise the following weekend:— C. Hyland vA. Powdrell; J. N. Moore v B. Alexander; I. Wylds v C. Suckling; R. J. Pattison v winner of E. Duncan and C. B. Wylds. Similar conditions apply to the first round of the Reynolds Cup for which the draw is: M. Murray v A. C. Anderson; W. Howat v winner of No. 3 Section; J. Stone v W. Rangi; M. Le Pine v winner of E. Tomlinson and J. White. In conjunction with the above matches a medal round will be played next Saturday in four formation. A Stableford Bogey played last Saturday produced some excellent scores: M. Le Pine 38, A. Cradwick 38, A. Powdrell 37, S. Spence 35, J. N. Moore 35. Le Pine won on a count back. The following players will represent Whakatane against Rotorua at Rotorua next Sunday: I. Wylds, A. TE TEKO LADIES' CLUB WEEKEND PLAY This week a Stableford Bogeycompetition will be played. Following is the draw:— Mrs A. P. Smith v Mrs Burr; Mrs Cannell v Miss Linsell; Mrs Caldwell v Mrs Linsell; Mrs Anderson v Mrs Waldegrave; Mrs Hendle v Miss Walker. Sunday’s draw: Mrs Thomas v Mrs Caldwell. For this and next week anyone unable to play please ring Mrs Goodwin.

Putauaki Trophy The di'aw for the Putauaki trophy is as follows, the number against each players name being the order of qualifying:— Mrs Balfour'•(1) v Mrs Goodwin (8); Mrs A. P. Smith (4) v Miss Linsell (5); Mrs Hutton (6) v Mrs Thomas (3); Mrs Caldwell (7) v Mrs li. B. Smith (2). Play off to be on handicap. The first round must be competed by July 10. Weekend Results The June Medal played last week resulted: B grade, Mrs Balfour 95 26—69; C grade over 9 holes, Miss Linsell 56r—10—46. 4
