TRUCK DRIVER FINED Stated ,to have driven a heavy truck and trailer at 45 miles per hour, Murray Cooper, who did not appear, was charged in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday with operating a heavy truck and trailer on the Te Teko-Galatea road at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour.

Inspector Carling gave evidence that he . followed Cooper who was travelling at 45 miles per hour. Cooper’s explanation was that his speedometer was out of order. The magistrate, Mr E. L. Walton, imposed a fine of £4.
